Participants were categorized according to their panic ratings. Non-panickers
were considered to be those who have not experienced a panic attack. Infrequent
panickers were those subjects who experienced from one to six panic attacks
in the last year. Frequent panickers were those who experienced over six
panic attacks in the last year.
Table 2 presents the number of subjects in the frequent, and infrequent panic
and the nonpanic groups, and the mean ages for each group. While 65.1% of
the sample was non-panickers, 24.4% of the sample were infrequent panickers,
and 6.5% of the sample were frequent panickers. No significant differences
were found among panic groups in terms of age
(F (167) = 1.058, ns).
